CARPENTRY COMPETITION

For the Twelfth year the Greenville-Pitt County Home Builders Association is hosting a carpentry competition among the six local high schools to help raise much-needed funds for the carpentry program. Each school will have a team of eight students to build a storage building. Each team will use the same plans and will be judged on their skill, speed, and craftsmanship. Local builders will serve as judges and the judges will use the same judging criteria as used in State VICA competitions.

The completed buildings will be sold for $1250 each on a first come first serve basis.  All of the proceeds from the sale of the buildings will be equally divided among the six schools to buy supplies and tools.

For this annual Carpentry Competition, the Greenville Pitt County Home Builders Association was awarded NCHBA 2005 STARS Awards Best Community Project.

All association members are asked to support this event by becoming a sponsor and playing an active role in TRAINING TOMORROW’S WORKFORCE TODAY. Sponsors will be recognized in all publicity for this event.
